Margene Stowe Petraitis August 6, 1943 - July 1, 2022 Lakeland, Florida - Margene passed away July 1, 2022. She was born on August 6, 1943 to Robert and Frances (Kirkpatrick) Stowe in Kansas City, Missouri. Margene graduated from North Kansas City High School in 1961 and attended Drury College and Oklahoma State University. Early in her career, she worked for People to People and owned retail stores selling children's clothing. Later she worked in insurance for American Family, Travelers, and then retired from GEICO. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Petraitis and sister, Marilyn Bechtel. Survivors include a daughter, Dana Koenig (John) and granddaughter Sarah of Plant City, Florida; nieces Lynn Bechtel, Plano, Texas, Kathy Zink (Eric), Olathe, Kansas, Christie Fischer (Mike), Overland Park, Kansas; and five grand nieces and nephews. A celebration of Margene's life will be held July 21, 2022 at 11am at the First United Methodist Church in Plant City.
